FINAL RESULTS for 2023-2024 SEASON

Congratulations to the Hares for winning the Winscombe Indoor League Championship on shot difference from the Minks.
Many thanks for your support over the past 28 weeks, we will start all over again in late September 2024.

THE HARES – OUR LEAGUE CHAMPIONS led by Mike Fletcher ,with Lew Collier and Greg Keenan. 
Ironically both League Title chasers lost on the last games but the Hares had 25 shots difference from The Minks. Club Captain Chris Bryant presented the trophy.  Hard Luck Mal, Ray and Mike Rolls.

THE KO CUP – Had been won by The Badgers led by  Mike Nash with Bob Kibble and Tony Rowe. Vice President Lew presented the trophy.

 

LEAGUE RULES-2023/24

PLEASE NOTE :
SUBSTITUTES
All Players are responsible for arranging their own replacement during absence. FIRST CHOICE must be -(1) selected from the list of RESERVES. (2) If No reserves available your opposite number from the resting team . (3) Another member of the resting team. There maybe exceptional circumstances (e.g (a)-sudden illness, (b)- car breakdown en route, (c)- no reserves or resting team available etc) Thereby ad-hoc substitutes may be allowed. This will be at the discretion of the 2 Skips involved. The ad-hoc reserve must be a Winscombe member.

SYSTEM FOR ‘TWO VERSUS THREE’
The Lead and Two of the team of three will each play with two woods, and the Skip with four woods. The team of two will play with four woods each. Thus,the two Skips will compete on equal terms, and all players walk to the other end together.
The team of two will have a reduction of 20% to their score (rounded down). To be ready for this eventuality, Skips should always bring four woods.

The absentee must pay the missed green fee the following week.
DEAD ENDS count as played ends, with a two shot penalty when on the last end.

           GAMES end at 16 ends, or at the completion of the end in progress at the buzzer. The jack must be bowled and centred before the buzzer sounds.

           SCORING – Win – 2 points, Draw- 1 point. If teams are tied at the end of the season shot difference will decide.

            WRONG BIAS – this will result in £1 in the pig

            MEMBERSHIP FEES – £50 per player. Rink Fees £2.50 per session

FINAL – 24th January 2023 

Congratulations to the Minks who defeated the Squirrels by 3 shots in a very close final.
In the 3rd/4th play-off the Foxes beat the Badgers by the same margin.

3rd/4th play-off – Foxes 12 Badgers 9
